Magnesia Falls Cove Neighborhood
In 1934, a Pasadena investor and developer purchased land and began selling lots offerring “modern attractive small homes”. A 1937 advertisement in the Pasadena Star-News, boasted that Rancho Mirage offered “one more hour sunshine” than Palm Springs. A Hollywood lawyer purchased the entire holding in the late 1940s to build post-war homes. In 1956, he was joined in his venture by his enterprising brother-in-law, TV personality Art Linkletter. Originally known as Rancho Mirage, the community became Magnesia Falls Cove.
